Size and pricing comparisons

The photo above shows 12" cat sculpture on left (650), compared to the 8" black and white cat ($300), and 8" dog $400.

It demonstrates that a sculpture that is 1/2 again larger is much more than that in impact, volume and time required.

Sizes of my pet sculptures are typically within an inch either way of stated size-There are variables in the firing process that make it impossible for me to promise exact sizes.

SO an 8" sculpture may be anywhere in the range of 7 to 9 inches- measured as height if sitting, or length as lying down. Smaller breeds are more likely to be 7 to 8 inches, large breeds likely to be 8 to 9.

I charge the same for all breeds;  I balance the differences in the demands for different breeds  between details, size, pose, hair trim etc.  If it is coming out closer to 7 inches, there will be more time put into details like hair.

My kiln can not hold sculptures this size, so I use a different sculpting medium that is just as permanent and very durable.  In some ways it is more labor intensive than my usual porcelain clay, and the material itself is much pricier to work with, contributing to the cost.

I believe that having realistic expectations is important, and it must be kept in mind that creating a 3 dimensional pet from 2 dimension photos has its limitations. I can not bring back a beloved pet, no matter how hard I try. I have a 100% rate of satisfaction and like to keep it that way by being certain that I can live up to your expectations.

Real cat

Hi Folks, I am currently running behind schedule. My priority is to come through for already promised orders. I can not promise to complete new orders within a few months time frame so I'd prefer not to take new orders at this time unless you are very aware of this delay.
My apologies to disappoint,
sincerely Deb Minette

The best reference for what to expect are my examples on this website.

Base your expectations on this and you wont be disappointed.

To make as custom URN sculpture to hold cremains, add $40 to sculpture price.

Size is approximate within an inch either direction, and refers to the longest dimension: Height if sitting or length if lying down.

It can be influenced by the pose ; for instance a dachshund is going to be alot longer than its ht, so even if it's pose is sitting, it is the length that will be the 8 inches.

When your sculpture is close to finished I will send a photo.

At that point I can still make adjustments if needed.

Expectations......

The sculptures on my website are very representative of my work. They are the only way I have of giving you an idea of what to expect. Please note that even though I strive for realism, this is still a sculpture, not a photographic  miniature of your pet. I do my very best on every sculpture, but reasonable expectations guided by examples you see on my website are very important.

I have a cumulative general knowledge of many breeds, but do not claim to be an expert on any breed. When I need further reference for things I cant see in your photos, I frequently reference breed standards, but I am the 1st to say that expecting my sculptures to hold to show ring standards can not be promised. My highest priority is personality and face, to remind you of your friend.

It is not fair to expect more than what you see in my examples, or expect me to include things that are not apparent in your photos. There are limits to what can be transferred from a 2D photo into 3D.  If you have specific concerns, feel free to ask me - I will be very honest with you about what I think I can do or not.

Sadly, After 40 years of just trusting people, doing business on the internet means I must now state the obvious :

~Once work on your sculpture has begun, deposits are non refundable unless I fail to deliver on time.  If I fall behind promised delivery or I am otherwise at fault for a change in your order, you are of course entitled to a  prompt refund.

After I have sent you a final photo for approval:   Payment in full must be made before shipping.

~Please be considerate of my investment of time and materials andbe prepared to pay the invoice.  I respect you with very lenient deposit policies and invest far more of my time and material expenses than I ask for as a deposit.  If you have an unavoidable unexpected delay just call me please,  I understand  emergencies, but telling me you love it and then dissapearing for  months is not acceptable.

~Failure to pay balance or call me within a month of completion and your approval of final photo, may result in being considered abandoned and forfeit of deposit and sculpture at my discretion.
